東京・港区南青山に建つ、オフィスと住宅の複合建築としての「395」。東側にある京都風の路地を入って行くと和風の落ち着いた玄関があります。さらに、専用のエレベーターで3階に出ると秋田杉を使用した数寄屋造りの空間が広がります。表千家の師匠がオーナーである3階の住宅には、坪庭と2畳台目の茶室がしつらえられています。一方、オフィスのファサードは緊張感のある造形が施され、ファッショナブルで表情豊かなインバクトを持っています。また、内部空間にはスタジオを彷彿とさせるようなダイナミックなホリゾントがあり、印象的なオフィススベースが展開されています。米国の月刊建築誌である「ARCHITECTURALRECORD」の表紙を飾るなど、欧米各誌に紹介され、国内のみならず現在でも海外からの見学者が訪れています。
A building complex of office and residence called 395 in Minami-Aoyama,Tokyo. Entering from a Kyoto-style alley, you find a Japanese-style entrance. A private elevator brings you up to a Sukiya style space made of Akita-cedar on the third floor. The third floor is the residence of the owner, a master of Omotesenke – one of Japanese leading tea ceremonial schools -, small courtyard and tea ceremony room with two tatami-mats. For the office part, the façade gives a strong impact to the street. The organization of the interior space is dynamic and spacious like a studio. This building has been highly appreciated by some international magazines, such as ‘Architectural Record’. It attracts many visitors from all over the world.
